Long acting intramuscular injections of rilpivirine with cabotegravir every 4 weeks instead of daily oral art medicines, has been accepted by european commission as a treatment modality.
This will soon be launched in India as well. Now patients can live with just 6 to 12 injections in a year and forget about the pills. This reduces their anxiety about the disease and improves the quality of live.
